Cigar Test Ride –
🔥 OM CIGAR Essential No. 2
💰MSRP: $12–$14
The smell hits immediately with a bold chocolate and espresso aroma—absolutely rich and inviting.
The cold draw gives off another fantastic note of chocolate.
Retrohale starts off more on the woodsy side, with subtle chocolate lingering in the background.
This is definitely close to a full-bodied cigar.
Visually, it’s another flawless presentation from OM—impressive construction, no visible imperfections.
First draw: A delicious combo of dark chocolate with a touch of wood. The flavors are blending perfectly right off the bat. Through the first third, the chocolate dominates, but spice and woodsy notes tag in and out, keeping it interesting. At this point, I’d call it a dark chocolate paradise.
Second third: This cigar takes a powerful turn—spices move forward and the chocolate shifts into the background. The retrohale becomes noticeably spicy with woodsy undertones, and I’m even picking up a bit of pepper dancing in there. Around halfway, the chocolate peeks back in during the retrohale. It’s a back-and-forth between chocolate and spice, and it works.
I’m a sucker for a good dark chocolate cigar, and this one is hitting all the right notes.
What continues to impress me about OM Cigars is how well they manage transitions. Each third feels like a new balance of flavor—a shift in the scale that’s both deliberate and unique.
Final third: Chocolate comes back strong as the dominant flavor. Spice and wood stay in the background, offering just enough contrast. Smoke output has been solid throughout with clean, satisfying draws.
This is a cigar I will absolutely revisit. OM is doing something special, and No. 2 is another standout in their lineup.
